What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is being hailed as a game changer within the field of facial aesthetics.  This ultrapure hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring substance found in our bodies that is responsible for maintaining moisture within our skin) based product is wonderful for treating skin laxity. In doing so, it improves skin quality, texture and hydration as well as increasing firmness and elasticity.

How does Profhilo work?

Profhilo is an ultrapure hyaluronic acid. This substance attracts and binds water helping to keep the skin plump and hydrated.  It is also the only product currently on the market which stimulates the production of 4 different types of collagen and elastin leading to significant tissue improvement. 

Is Profhilo the same as Dermal fillers?

Although Profhilo is a hyaluronic based product, it is not a dermal filler and therefore is not used to enhance specific areas but will improve overall skin quality.  It can be used in conjunction with other aesthetics treatments such as fillers and Botox.

What does the Profhilo treatment involve?

The treatment involves 10 injections at specific points on the face (5 on each side).  These injections are just below the skin surface thereby making it a very safe treatment.  No anaesthetic is required prior to treatment.   

Treatment involves a minimum of 2 sessions, each 4 weeks apart.  For some individuals, a 3rd session may be needed. 

What other areas can be treated with Profhilo?

It can also be used to treat the neck and décolletage as well as the back of the hands, upper arms and above the knees.

How long do the effects of the Profhilo treatment last for?

Results can last for about 4-6 months but the results can differ for each individual.

Is Profhilo safe and are there any side effects?

The product is injected just below the skin, away from any blood vessels and nerves, thereby making it a safe treatment.

There is no downtime with this product but there may be slight bruising and swelling as with any injectable treatment.  We advise that you avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours and no swimming for 48 hours.

Who is Profhilo suitable for?

Profhilo is recommended for those aged 25 and upwards and there is no upper age limit.
